Building on 2017’s Lost Stations, Platform is opening up a world of digital art for participants and audiences in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria and the North West. There is a whole host of opportunities to see, experience, and get involved with, including digital & moving image art, group art projects, exhibitions, artist talks & hands-on workshops.
The project is kindly supported by Arts Council England and will take place from July 2018 – March 2019. With so much happening, there is something for everyone.
For 2018 the theme for Platform is Interconnectivity, titled ‘Under the Same Sky’. The theme investigates wide interpretations of connectivity, between and in different communities.
Each commissioned artist will explore Barrow’s connections to the wider world through its history and industry, alongside important universal themes around connection in the digital age.
All activities are free to take part in, if you would like any more information please call Kezz on 01229 838 592 or email joanna@signalfilmandmedia.co.uk.
“We are very excited this year to launch Platform. We have some fantastic artists creating new work that we can’t wait for audiences to come and experience.”
