The finale of our year-long digital arts programme Platform, UNDER THE NORTHERN SKY brings together 13 artists from across Cumbria and the North.  The show features something for everyone and will take you on a journey through different spaces in Cooke’s Studios and 102 Abbey Rd. to encounter short films, photography, sound art, video projection, textiles, and large-scale interactive artworks.

Step inside a giant pinhole camera, take a strangely familiar personality test, shape your own sound art piece at the randomisation station and step into ultraviolet light to encounter an underwater science experiment like you’ve never seen (or heard!) before…. One of the installations, which is in partnership with Furness Refugee Support, will be welcoming donated items. Please click this link for info for more information.

'Windscale to Woomera: British Nuclear Weapons tests' by Julia Parks

Join us for the launch of the exhibition with a special late-night event with drinks reception. All are welcome and the evening will include a talk from special guest speakers INVISIBLE FLOCK, an interactive arts studio based in Leeds characterised by their collaborative approach and highly sensory installations.

Many of the studio’s projects explore our relationship to the natural world – from Morecambe Bay to the River Kaveri, India, they have created projects globally that explore art & technology within the some of the planet’s most fascinating landscapes http://invisibleflock.com/about/.
