Artist talk with Sam Meech

Thursday 25th April 7pm – 8.30pm at Signal Film & Media, Cooke’s Studios

FREE EVENT – limited spaces so booking recommended.

Please join us for an exciting talk and Q&A session with digital artist in residence at Florence Mine, Egremont, from October 2012 to February 2013.  Part of an Arts Council Funded project led by Signal Film and Media.

Sam Meech uses a wide range of media including digital projection design, analogue video hardware, and interactive media systems.  His films have been shown at festivals across the UK, and he continues to develop projects with artists and communities across the NorthWest.  During his residency Sam has developed new work in response to his time spent at Florence Mine and the surrounding area including an eerie video installation featuring remixed accounts of the recent mine shaft collapse.

This is a great opportunity for people interested in film, photography, art and culture to gain an insight into Sam Meech’s working practice.  During the talk Sam will discuss his recent projects, including his time spent at Florence Mine, and will provide guests with the opportunity to ask questions and take part in an open discussion forum.
