SOCIAL MEDIA SKILLS WORKSHOPS
24th – 26th JUNE@ Cooke’s Studios
Signal Film & Media is holding a FREE workshop series specifically aimed at out of work Furness residents aged 50+ interested in boosting their computer skills.
In today’s current economic climate people need all the help they can get in securing work, and the Internet is fast becoming the most important place to connect with others and find employment opportunities. This intensive programme will give Furness residents the skills and confidence to develop an online presence and harness the power of social media for effective self-promotion and networking.
The project is funded by the European Social Fund’s Community Grants programme, with the aim of helping people overcome barriers to get back into the workplace.
Led by a team of media trainers, the workshops will cater for all levels of experience. Through practical training participants will develop internet skills, maximising their online presence using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIN and Flickr along with the opportunity to develop a basic website using WordPress. Participants will also have access to tailored one-to-one careers advice and mentoring on their individual projects.
