Filmmaker and workshop leader Karen Bird said: “This Easter at Signal Starters we will be using dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures as a starting point to create an animated short film. It’s going to be a lot of fun for the group to design characters, make models and animate a story.”
Karen Bird has ran previous Signal Starter workshops which have gone on to be recognised both locally and internationally. The animated short film ‘The Day Before Christmas’ made by our Signal Starters film club last December with Karen, was selected for screening at the 1st Annual Palm Springs International Animation Festival in the USA in 2017 and has reached the semi-finals for selection at the International Youth Film Festival called ZOOM.12 in Ljubljana, Slovenia in March 2018!
“Animation is a powerful form of art with the ability to educate, inform and inspire a new world of storytelling. Our goal and passion is to celebrate amazing animated films, the talented artist and their teams from around the world.” – Brian Neil Hoff, Festival Director PSIAF 2017
