The cinema is based in Cooke’s Studios on Abbey Road, next door to the Duke of Edinburgh, there will be the occasional pop-up event in the local area. November continues as Music Movie Month with the 2016 uplifting & heartfelt 80’s Irish drama, teen choice SING STREET (12a) on Wed 9th at 6pm. But be ready to get your punk arm ready for the savage new indie classic in GREEN ROOM (18) feat. Patrick Stewart, Joe Cole & Imogen Poots on Thur 17th at 7.30pm.

Signal Cinema brings you Alternative Xmas themed movies in December with a big-screen presentation of Tim Burton’s masterpiece THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (PG) on Wed 7th. With a “Yippee-ki- yay” decking the halls, Signal brings you the 1st and best 80’s action classic DIE HARD on Sat 17th at 7.30pm.  Signal Cinema is hosting a special screening at the Vue Cinema Barrow on Thur 15th December at 7:30pm, for a Cumbrian premier of the hit US festival circuit Indie flick I AM NOT A SERIAL KILLER (15), with a special appearance by its Barrow-born scriptwriter Chris Hyde. I AM NOT A SERIAL KILLER (15) follows troubled teen John Wayne Cleaver, played by Max Records (Where the Wild Things Are) as he tracks and hunts a supernatural killer whilst keeping his own homicidal tendencies at bay. Starring Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) and Laura Fraser (Breaking Bad), this black comedy premiered at South by Southwest festival in March and is already tipped to be a future cult classic based on its festival circuit success.

The New York Times review considers it “..a well-filmed indie that doesn’t let it’s low-budget get in the way of some true chills..”
