The Beast of Walney

During Easter 2015 Signal mentored 13 youngsters from North Walney Primary school on Walney Island. They learnt the different areas of filmmaking, and got to work with a professional animator Russell Peet, a local actor and had the opportunity to learn about the wildlife of Walney Island through wildlife photographer Tony Frankowski who also lives in North Walney. During the week-long project the children interviewed residents who also work with Signal at Eamont Close Sheltered Housing, who helped the children complete their project by acting. This project was an merging of 2 funded projects: Signal Starters funded by Children in Need and our big Window on Walney project funded by People’s Health Trust using money raised by HealthAble through The Health Lottery.
