Cine North Rural Cinema-Screening Launch

This month Signal Film and Media hosted the launch of Cine North, one of three rural cinema-screening schemes initiated in the UK. Cine North will bring a high quality and modern digital cinema experience to local audiences underserved by cinema provision across Cumbria and Yorkshire.

Signal is a lead delivery partner and will also be hosting and screening films as part of the initiative so watch this space for our screening programme which will be announced in the coming months!

The launch meeting was a great opportunity for all the venues and partners involved to discuss and prepare for the autumn season of screenings. In addition guest speakers shared advice and top tips for successful community cinema events. Guests and speakers on the day included representatives from Bradford Media Museum, Film Hub North, BFI Neighbourhood Cinema, Screening Film and local venues from across Cumbria and Yorkshire.

Cine North is delivered by National Media Museum in partnership with Blaize Community Arts (Yorkshire), Signal Film & Media (South Cumbria) and Arts Out West (West Cumbria), with support from Film Hub North and Lottery Funding through The BFI Neighbourhood Fund. Cine North is a strategic partner of Film Hub North, part of the BFI Audience Network.
