This exhibition features the work of 3 leading North West-based photographers who have documented Cumbria & the West Coast in engaging & dynamic ways. The show explores themes including our relationship to time & the shifting contours of our landscapes, tourism in unexpected places, & the nature of dog walking.

Katrin Joost

Katrin Joost’s practice investigates time, temporality and a philosophical approach to photography. She regularly photographs near her home on the coast in Bowness-on-Solway, using the panorama function on an iPhone to capture natural phenomena such as the rapidly changing tides.

HENRY IDDON

Henry Iddon has extensively photographed the Cumbrian landscape over the last 18 years. Working in both digital and film format, his work also captures on location action, documentary and lifestyle.

JOHN DARWELL

John Darwell is an independent photographer working on long-term projects that reflect his interest in social and industrial change, concern for the environment and issues around the depiction of mental health. He is also Reader in Photography at the University of Carlisle. His work has been exhibited internationally and he has published several books, most recently with Cafe Royal Books.
