Welcome to T I D A L, our newest digital arts programme launching in October 2022, which explores Barrow’s coastal environment & the climate emergency through free development opportunities including talks, workshops and engagements with the coast.

TIDAL will explore the unique proximity of the urban centre of Barrow-in-Furness with the coastlines that outline it. Through artistic investigation, TIDAL will engage different communities of Barrow through a platform to discuss memories, experience and ideas in thinking about the ‘peninsula’s anthropocene’. Working with leading artists, creative, community and environmental organisations it will develop new and inherent threads in which we move and respond between our lives and the coast.

We will invite digital art in to reframe and investigate what the coast means to people and the planet. Digital artists and the community will develop responses to TIDAL, a topical and pertinent theme ripe for creative research and insight.
