Please note this is a two part workshop.
Join The Caravan Gallery as they explore and subvert the traditional picture postcard. Be guided through the process of making your very own postcard of the West Coast of Cumbria in this fun two part workshop.
During the workshops you will have an introduction to postcards both old and new, as well as learning about the work of the Caravan Gallery from across the Country. Be inspired to make your own postcard using found imagery, cut up magazines, your own snapshots or even take-away menus. Work made during the workshops may feature in The Caravan Gallery final exhibition in October as part of the West Coast Photo Festival Chapter Two in Barrow Market.
You will discuss as a group what photographs could be included on a postcard. What slogans best capture the area you live in? What are you most proud of when showcasing your town?
The Caravan Gallery is a collaboration between artists and photographers Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale to document the reality and surreality of the way we live today. The Caravan Gallery uses colour photography to create thought-provoking images which frequently celebrate overlooked and occasionally bizarre aspects of everyday life.
Explore what the Cumbrian West Coast means to you in this fun two part workshop.
