The Caravan Gallery (Jan Williams & Chris Teasdale) are taking over The Arc in Barrow Market Square for one month to celebrate postcards of Barrow produced by the Sankeys over 80 years & continue its legacy.

Jan & Chris will exhibit their photographs of Barrow & need your help to create an exciting evolving exhibition / alternative visitor information centre.

Bring along your Barrow-themed photographs, films, music, drawings, paintings, postcards, poems & objects to include in the exhibition. You can even make your own postcards of Barrow – the more unusual the better! Local photographer Brian Moxham, owner of Pepperland Collect, will also be exhibiting here. Come down anytime during opening hours to get involved.

The Sankeys were a father-son duo who extensively photographed Barrow, as well as Cumbria & Lancashire, over an 80-year period between 1890 and 1970. A selection of prints of their amazing postcards will be displayed in the space.
