SEEING THE NORTH WITH SANKEY

EXPLORING THE PHOTOGRAPHIC COLLECTION

We are beginning the next stage of our heritage project ‘Seeing the North with Sankey’.

For over seventy years, father and son team Edward and Raymond Sankey ran a local photography firm in Barrow. The images they took captured day to day life, as well as some of the momentous events that shaped the town over a remarkable period in its development.

In February we received 1000’s of digitised photographs, postcard books and catalogues. Over the next two years we invite volunteers to join us in describing, cataloguing and exploring the collection.

OUR WORKSHOPS HAVE CURRENTLY BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN GETTING INVOLVED FROM HOME PLEASE EMAIL JULIA@SIGNALFILMANDMEDIA.CO.UK FOR MORE INFO
